Organimal We already provide good nutrition, but sometimes an animal's body (just like us humans) needs that little bit extra! Organimal offers 100% natural supplements free from chemicals and artificial fragrances, colors, and flavors. Simply 100% pure nature! They truly have a natural supplement for every problem! Think of support for: bladder and kidneys, bones and joints, teeth, behavior and stress, skin and coat, immune system, respiratory tract, stomach and intestines, ears and eyes, aging, grooming, etc. Our cats all get "Shiny Coat and Skin" and "Seaweed" powder in their food. Seaweed powder is incredibly good for preventative maintenance of the intestines and teeth. This prevents diarrhea and red and irritated gums. Our mother cats also get a "Multivitamin" and "Propolis" as an extra supplement. We also use Organimal flea and tick powder for our cats and kittens, which is 100% natural. This is much better than unnatural/chemical flea control. Thanks to our partnership with Organimal, I can offer an unlimited 15% discount on the entire range. Drinking fountain
A drinking fountain encourages cats to drink more. Cats naturally prefer moving water to stagnant water. Moreover, moving water stays free of bacteria for longer.
We have the DownyPaws drinking fountain in several places around our house. They're great because they're cordless/rechargeable and silent. The filters are also easy to replace, and the drinking fountain is made of stainless steel.
Our partnership with DownyPaws allows me to offer an unlimited 10% discount on the black, white, and stainless steel drinking fountains.

Note: Always place food and water at least two meters apart (so don't buy two bowls that are attached). This is because cats don't like food and water next to each other. Predators instinctively avoid water near prey, as it could be contaminated or contaminated. Moving the water bowl to a different location has been shown to encourage cats to drink more.
Furthermore, it's best to use bowls with low rims for kibble and wet food. This is because otherwise, the cat's whiskers will press against the rims. Whiskers are incredibly sensitive, and constant pressure on them while eating is very unpleasant for cats.
Crab habitats
Cats have scent glands in their paw pads, and by scratching, they deposit this scent in places they care about. Scratching helps cats stretch and flex their muscles, but it can also be an outlet for tension or frustration. Scratching is essential for a cat and can't be unlearned. Therefore, provide plenty of scratching opportunities. These can be scratching posts, scratching cardboard, or scratching mats on the floor or wall. From experience, I can tell you that scratching cardboard is our absolute favorite. Our cats never scratch our furniture because we provide a nice scratching spot in various places.
Cats also like to keep an overview of their space and have a strong preference for elevated spots with a view. Therefore, in rooms where your cat spends most of their time, choose attractive scratching spots that your cat will encounter when they enter. Also, be sure to choose a tall scratching post. This way, your cat is more likely to use the post instead of the furniture, and they also have a nice high spot to lie down.

Litter box use
Litter box
Cats don't like using a dirty litter box. Choosing a larger litter box will give your cats more "clean" spots to do their business. Always keep the litter box as clean as possible. This prevents your cat from relocating to another area of the house. Therefore, it's recommended to sift it morning and evening and change the litter weekly.
We have several Petree Cube self-cleaning litter boxes and these are the advantages:
- Never sift yourself again and always clean grains
- Doesn't stink
- Suitable for cats up to 8 kg
- Ideal if you have multiple cats
- All types of clumping granules can be used
- Connected to an app
- Indicates when the reservoir is full
- Easy to clean
- Makes little noise
- Also suitable for kittens
Our partnership with Petree allows me to offer an unlimited 10% discount on Petree products.
This discount applies in addition to the current discount that Petree itself offers on its website.

Incidentally, there are also many cats who simply don't want to use the same litter box. As soon as they smell another cat's scent in the litter box, they consider it their territory and won't use it anymore. Therefore, it's recommended to have at least one litter box per cat. This prevents toilet training problems and stressful behavior.

Movement and play
Did you know that many (indoor) cats lack exercise? And that cats with too much energy will exhibit unwanted behavior. A cat that can't burn off energy will, out of boredom, do things around the house that often don't please us humans. Furthermore, a cat in good shape is also healthier and maintains a better weight. Therefore, an exercise wheel is a perfect addition to any cat household.
We have a handmade wooden exercise wheel from Catpalace. This wheel is durable and makes absolutely no noise. It also has a larger diameter, which promotes a healthier posture for your cat.
Active play with your cat is also incredibly important! This allows your cat to exhibit natural behavior and helps you build a bond with them. Try to take some time for this every day and play with your cat for 30 to 60 minutes.

Punishment? Better not...
The reason punishing a cat doesn't work is because the cat simply doesn't connect its own behavior with the punishment. If you use a spray bottle to discourage scratching the couch, for example, it might seem effective at first, but nothing could be further from the truth. The next time, your cat will just as easily walk over to the couch and dig its claws in. Only when you grab the spray bottle will it look startled and perhaps even flee. Half an hour later, it might just as easily walk back to the couch to scratch, unaware of any harm done.
If a cat understood that it was being punished for its behavior, it would surely stop after one or two attempts. A cat simply doesn't understand that you find certain behavior undesirable and therefore punish it. Why is punishment only counterproductive? Because, from a cat's perspective, its owner might suddenly do something that startles or hurts it (for example, scruffing it). This is a huge source of stress for cats, and it certainly doesn't improve their behavior. Moreover, your cat will trust you less, like you less, and may even become afraid of you. That's a situation no one wants. So, what can you do about unwanted behavior? Unfortunately, there isn't a single, universal way to unlearn unwanted behavior in cats. What does work very well is to examine why your cat exhibits the unwanted behavior and address the cause. For example, if your cat scratches the couch, it's due to its natural urge to scratch. If you place an extra scratching station nearby, your cat is more likely to prefer using it. You can also try to make it clear to your cat that this is the intention by carrying them to the scratching post when they scratch the sofa. You can also discourage the behavior by making the area less attractive with a scent spray or temporarily changing the placement. Therefore, you'll need to consider each behavior individually to determine why your cat does this and how you can offer an alternative or make it less attractive.
